The Minnesota River Valley Scenic Byway
offers a variety of attractions outlining the area's rich history and cultural heritage
just waiting to be discovered. Find your way to the Prairie Waters area via this 300 mile
scenic route as it follows the Minnesota River from Belle Plaine to Browns Valley. One
hundred ninety miles of byways were added to the existing one hundred mile segment from
Granite Falls to Mankato, making it the state's longest scenic byway. Watch for the eagle
emblem on road signs depicting the route as you discover North America's oldest rock
formations, a unique salt lake that attracts birds as rare as the snow egret, state parks,
and much more.
