Begin your tour in Canby where you may visit the
Antique Emporium in downtown Canby on Highway 75, stop at Eaton's Victorian Rose Bed and
Breakfast living museum, or drive a short distance to beautiful Clark's Lake west of town.
Continue north on Highway 75 and go east on Highway 212 to the city of Montevideo. Nestled
oil 20 acres at intersections of Highway 7 and 59 (2 blocks north on Highway 7), Historic
Chippewa City is home to 23 buildings replicating a late 1800's village complete with town
square, boardwalks and a centrally located gazebo. |

Your tour will take you directly into
each log cabin, church, school, millinery shop, bank, and general store. A sure hit for
all ages. Admission.
Take Highway 59/7 north 6 miles (past Watson)
and 2.2 miles west on County Road 13 to the Lac qui Parle Mission. See where the first
church bell tolled in Minnesota and the site where the Bible was translated into the
Dakota language. Inside, exhibits describe the missionaries and their work, the Dakota
people and Joseph Renville, the man who linked their worlds. Come hear the echoes of your
past. Free Return to Highway 59/7 and travel south towards Montevideo. Tucked away in a
rural setting just outside Montevideo oil Highway 7 is Marie's Antiques. The store is not
large but it is worth the drive to see it. The antique store is combined with her
husband's art gallery and located in the middle of a huge garden where the Pederson's grow
vegetables and fruit. They sell produce right on the porch with the art and antiques
inside. Marie's Antiques sell everything from glassware and old books to pictures, dolls,
and old tools.

If you travel east on Highway 7 just 6 miles
then 5 miles South on County Road 6 you will enjoy the Swensson Farm Museum. This turn of
the century 22-room brick farmhouse is situated on a 17-acre farmstead complete with
1880's timber-framed barn, grist mill remain and family burial plot. Come see the home of
one of Minnesota's most "innovative immigrants." Take a visit into history. On
the National Registry. Admission. Travel 5 miles north on County Road 6 back to Highway 7
and then travel east to state highway 277. Turn and travel north 2.5 miles to Busy B's
Antiques which is located in an old country general store in Gluek, They'll take you back
in time with all of their glassware, toys, furniture, shakers, and much more. Travel south
on 277 to Maynard and catch Highway 23 on the east end of town. Stop at Corky's Antiques,
located along Highway 23, or travel south to Granite Fails, in the beautiful Minnesota
River Valley. Conveniently located just inside the city limits is Red Lodge Trading Post
which features the finest American Indian Art of the southwest. Products for sale include
kachinas, silverwork, pottery, Navajo rugs, turquoise, Ojibwa beadwork and star quilts,
Plains Indian artwork merchandise, Pipestone art work and peace pipes, unique
sandpaintings and more. Velkommen til The Valley Troll, a Scandinavian gift shop located
only one-half block north of the Highway 212 and 23 inter-section. Watch for the
Scandinavian flags proudly displayed. This unique gift shop features quality gifts from
Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland and also features wonderful books, greeting
cards, Tom Clark gnomes, Firelight oil lamps and much more!

For a change of pace, continue on Highway 23 south
to Minnesota's Machinery Museum in Hanley Falls. Plan to spend a minimum of 11/2 hours
experiencing this enormous six-acre museum filled with agricultural history. The gals will
especially enjoy the farm home rooms, country art, and gift shop. Huge tractors from as
early as 1912 and a new building filled with vintage automobiles is a sight you don't want
to miss. From Hanley Falls travel County Road 18 west to Highway 59. To get to Net's
Antique Shack - "country with a knack" - keep heading west two miles past Oraas
County Park. Net's features a large variety of antiques and collectibles -frequently
getting new items. Many unique items, furniture, pictures, pottery, glassware and much
more - all at a reasonable price. |
From Oraas County Park travel north 8 miles on
Highway 59 to Prairie Mercantile, located on the south end of Clarkfield. Here are 15
merchants under one roof offering a wide selection of antiques, collectibles, giftware,
hardanger, quilting pieces and supplies, craft items and more. Highway 67 west will take
you back to Highway 75 and the city of Canby. We hope you have enjoyed your self-guided
