Contest Specifications:

Video contest with cash prizes!

Submissions should promote tourism in our four-county region (Chippewa, Lac qui Parle, Swift and Yellow Medicine counties).  

 

Timeline

Submit videos by June 17, 2009

Video Screening & Presentation of Awards will be July 8, 2009 at 6 pm at McKinney’s in Benson.

 

Two ways to submit video

 

1) Submit via YouTube:  

    • You will have to create a YouTube account.
    • Please upload in highest definition possible.
    • Send link to video to prairiewaterstourism@gmail.com
    • Remember to fill out registration form
    • Videos may be streamed off of YouTube for Prairie Waters use.


 

2) Submit to Prairie Waters via email:

Prizes

First prize: $300.

Second prize: $150.

People’s Choice award: $50.

For the top two prizes, submissions will be judged by representatives of the Prairie Waters Board.

For the people’s choice award, eligible submissions will be viewed and voted on during the Video Screening & Presentation of Awards at the Prairie Waters Annual Gathering on July 8, 2009 at 6 pm at McKinney’s in Benson, MN.

Above all, there are no rules when it comes to creativity. Tell us a story with the camera & have fun!

 

Video Requirements

  • Please limit video to 3 minutes or less.  Keep it short, concise and interesting.
  • The video should promote tourism in our area.
  • Subject matter of video must be a public place or available for the public to explore.
  • There is no limit to the number of videos submitted.
  • All material should be your own, original material.
  • Videos cannot use copyrighted material, such as music or film. Contestant takes responsibility that all images and soundtracks are not copyrighted material.
  • Prairie Waters will be given full rights to use submitted videos in any way.  Entries may be published on www.prairiewaters.com  and  www.exploreminnesota.com .
  • All ages are eligible to produce and submit a video.
  • All submissions must be accompanied by an official entry form and a release form for each actor, signed by the entrant or by a parent or guardian (for entrants 18 and younger).
  • There is no cost or purchase required to enter this contest.
  • Prairie Waters reserves the right (a) to suspend or cancel the Contest in its sole discretion, and (b) to select winners from among all eligible entries received prior to the cancellation date. Prairie Waters further reserves the right to modify the rules of the Contest in any way or at any time. Any changes will be posted on www.prairiewaters.com.
  • The First and Second Place Prizes may not be awarded to anyone on the Prairie Waters staff or board and its designees or members of their immediate families. However, the People’s Choice award is open to anyone, including Prairie Waters staff or board and its designees or members of their immediate families.
